Bandju Instagram Helper connects a video download you request on Bandju Downloader to your own Instagram session in the same browser. Use it only for videos you own or have permission to download. It does not bypass private-account permissions, login challenges or account restrictions. Bandju is independent of Instagram and Meta.

What happens when you request a download

1. The extension receives the requested Instagram post identifier and quality preset from bandju.com/tools/downloader/ or download.bandju.com.
2. It requests that post's page or media information directly from www.instagram.com. The browser sends the existing Instagram session to Instagram using HTTPS. The extension does not read cookies through a cookies API, ask for a password, or copy authentication cookies to Bandju.
3. Instagram's response, which can contain account and page metadata, is processed transiently in the extension to find the requested video and determine whether sign-in is needed. Account identifiers and unrelated page content are not returned to Bandju.
4. Only the requested video's temporary CDN links and duration are returned to the Bandju page. The page submits these links, the requested post URL and output settings to Bandju's downloader server. Bandju retrieves, processes and temporarily stores the requested video and any requested cover image so you can save the result.

Purpose, sharing and retention

This information is used only to provide the download you request and operate and protect that service. It is not sold, used for advertising, or used to build browsing profiles. The extension does not inspect unrelated tabs, collect your general browsing history, store Instagram session data, or run analytics. It has no persistent extension data storage.

Requests go to Instagram, its media delivery hosts, and Bandju's downloader infrastructure as described above. Like other internet services, those servers receive normal connection information such as your IP address. Bandju uses hashed IP-based rate limits and a temporary downloader session for abuse prevention. The Bandju website may separately use Cloudflare for website delivery and aggregate site analytics; the extension contains no analytics code and does not send Instagram cookies or media links to an analytics service.

Downloaded files and job information expire after one hour on the current Bandju service and are removed by periodic cleanup. You can use Remove in the download list to revoke access sooner; file cleanup follows. Anti-abuse rate-limit records and downloader sessions expire after 24 hours. The extension processes Instagram responses in memory during the request and does not persist them. Files you save on your own device remain until you delete them.

Bandju Instagram Helper's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is not used for personalized advertising or accessed by humans except with your specific consent, for security, or as required by law.

Your controls

You choose which post to request. Signing out of Instagram stops authenticated requests; disabling or removing the extension in chrome://extensions stops all extension activity. You may continue to use ordinary public downloads without the extension. All network transfers initiated by the extension use HTTPS.
